Christmas is approaching, the one or other might be thinking about Saint Nicholas’ Day already or is desperately trying to fill an Advent calendar in time, so I thought I’d share some ideas for handmade gifts with you. Within the next time, more and more things will be posted, so if you still need inspirations – check back now and then!

I made this little “Be happy”-bag for my driving instructor today (I passed the test!). In it, there is a CD with music for a good mood.

 Was du brauchst:

 What you need:

– a sewing machine, needle and thread (and maybe a serger)
– 2 smaller scraps of fabric – felt would be best (I cut mine in the size 21 x 16 cm, one of them 26 instead of 16 cm and rounded)
– 2 buttons
– some ribbon

How it works:

Place the smaller piece of fabric on the bigger one, the “good” sides facing to the outside. Sew both pieces together on the bottom and the sides. If you work with a serger, start at point 1, serge around the flap and end at point 2. Then close the bottom. Now you can sew on a bit of ribbon as a mouth, using zig zag stitch. Afterwards, only 2 button holes and the buttons are missing. I sewed one of the buttons on like a cross, the other one “normally”. Et voilà – there you have a bag for CDs and other little gifts!
